Radio Session by Kulturfabrik & radio 100.7

In order to support new and upcoming talents throughout Europe, in times where the music industry is among those who have suffered the most from the sanitary crisis, Luxembourg’s public service radio 100,7 and Kulturfabrik have joined forces. For the fourth edition of our Aircheck Sessions, we will host the Benoit Martiny Band. Luxembourg’s very own jazzed and psyched out Jon Bonham will turn up with his Dutch-Hungarian posse and will take us on a musical trip around the moons of Uranus (amongst other far-out destinations). The concert was recorded at the end of October at Kulturfabrik and will be broadcasted on December 25th on radio 100.7.

Benoit Martiny Band

The Benoit Martiny Band or BMB are a jazz-rock band, formed in the summer 2004, somewhere between a garage in Rameldange and the streets of Rotterdam. The group consists of Benoit Martiny on drums, Sandor Kem on Bass, Thijs van Milligen and Joao Driessen on Saxophones, and Frank Jonas on guitar. The music they play is composed by Martiny and is inspired by Jazz, Rock, Free Jazz, and Psychedelia. They’ve released 5 albums and 2 DVD’s and have collaborated with the likes of Michel Pilz, Mark Lotterman, Itaru Oki and Steve Kaspar.

For years, radio 100,7 and Kulturfabrik have played an important role in showcasing new talent. This new project is a logical step in the continued support of the local scene and in helping emerging artists to be heard in Luxembourg and abroad.
