The American-Swedish-French quartet creates a very unique, intense and extraordinary rock atmosphere while at the same time having a major mainstream appeal that takes you right back to the time of BLUES PILLS’ ancestors.
Blues Pills’ 2014 debut sounds like a seasoned band firmly rooted in the 60’s and 70’s. The quartet plays well-thought-out, soulful and bluesy rock reminiscent of the heady days of Aretha Franklin, the 60s incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, early Led Zeppelin and there’s a smidgen of Jimi Hendrix or even Cream in there as well. Elin Larsson’s voice is reminiscent of Janis Joplin : wispy and brittle at one moment, full-bodied and powerful the next, while groovy bass lines and drums lay the groundwork for the seemingly off-the-cuff solos.
After “Blues Pills” in 2014 and “Lady in Gold” in 2016, the band will release his third studio album and get back on tour this year. Blues Pills are already confirmed for the biggest summer festivals in 2020 such as Graspop Metal Meeting, Southside/Hurricane, Tons of Rock and many others.
