La Bande Passante is a documentary object theatre company based in Metz, whose artistic project aims to reinvent the notion of documentary creation. The artists of La Bande Passante draw inspiration from reality, particularly from archives and objects considered as documents that allow encounters with others and storytelling. Each creation is a very delicate weaving of materials and disciplines reimagined according to each story and encounter.
On the occasion of the cultural center's anniversary, La Bande Passante is partnering with the Kulturfabrik to celebrate the years and the people who have shaped this place through a collaborative installation using its unearthed archives!
Take part in this collaborative installation and come create with the artists! For one week, join the artists of La Bande Passante to collectively build a 25-meter linear installation composed of paper archives, enhanced with sound, video, and light! The exhibition will pay tribute to forty-one years of events, creations, and encounters.
Guided by two visual artists, participants will be invited to create this installation using the company's creation methods. The reproduced archives will form the foundation of this installation. Among hundreds of documents, come "enhance" the archive through the company's techniques of cutting, folding, and arranging, transforming the countless archives into aesthetic and plastic objects destined to be exhibited, staged, and spatially arranged.
