This 3-year residency enjoys the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, through its Neistart Lëtzebuerg initiative, aimed at supporting officially-approved cultural establishments in hosting associate artists or authors in residence.
Following on from its support to the multidisciplinary artists Sandy Flinto and Pierrick Grobéty, whose residency as “Associate Artists” ends in summer 2021, the Kulturfabrik has decided to support and encourage an artist working in contemporary music. The Kulturfabrik is pleased to announce that Sacha Hanlet is the new “Associate Artist at the Kulturfabrik”. His residency started officially on 15 March 2021 and will end on 14 March 2024. During these three years, Sacha Hanlet will enjoy long-term financial and human resources support in order to develop his solo project: “Them Lights”.
Sacha Hanlet is a singer-songwriter, performer, musician and producer. His project, “Them Lights”, was started in 2017. A clever mix of pop, electro music and R’n’B, the music of Them Lights aims to be avantgarde, dark and groovy. Well-known on the local scene and a member of the group Mutiny on the Bounty for 17 years, Hanlet is a regular at the Kulturfabrik.
“I have rehearsed in the Kufa studios with Mutiny on the Bounty for 16 years, so I have an unequalled personal affinity with this place. I love the team here, the ambience, its openness of spirit and its flexibility. With this residency, I have a dream opportunity to make music in the most professional way possible, supported by professionals and in a place where I feel at home,” he confides.
