Lord Finesse
Lord Finesse is a pioneering figure in hip-hop, renowned for his sharp lyricism and masterful production. Rising to fame in the late ’80s with his debut album The Funky Technician, he was a founding member of the legendary New York underground collective D.I.T.C. (Diggin’ In The Crates). Over the years, Finesse has been instrumental in launching careers, most notably discovering the late Big L, and producing key tracks for iconic artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Big L, and Jay-Z.
His 1996 album The Awakening showcased his dual talents as an MC and producer, featuring collaborations with hip-hop heavyweights such as KRS-One and MC Lyte. Beyond the studio, Finesse has contributed to influential documentaries and continues to tour globally as an artist, producer, and DJ.
With new projects lined up for 2025, including the SP1200 Project II and Funky Technician 35th anniversary, Lord Finesse remains a vital and respected force in hip-hop culture.
