2 DAYS, 2 STAGES, 20 BANDS!

Versus You has always wanted to bring to life a punk rock festival in their home country Luxembourg. Originally this festival has been created 2 years ago just before the pandemic to celebrate their 15 years of existence. Unfortunately, things turned out to go in a different direction during the crisis. But finally in 2022, the MAD ONES FEST will happen at Kulturfabrik.

DAY 1

JAYA THE CAT (US/NL)
Jaya the Cat is a reggae punk ska rocksteady band from Amsterdam. They will take you out on a night out, and things will for sure get weird. You will dance, laugh, and sing along at the top of your lungs even if you really can't sing. You will find yourself tapping your foot and nodding your head although you're “not really into reggae cause I'm a metal guy”. You will be happier than you thought you could be. You will end up in places you didn't even know existed. And somehow, you'll make it home safely with your keys, phone and wallet intact. Jaya the Cat will leave glitter confetti on your bedroom floor and take you out for breakfast. Or lunch, because, you know, breakfast will definitely be too early for anyone here.

USELESS ID (ISR)
Useless ID is a punk rock band from Israel. For over two decades, they have been writing, recording and touring all over the globe. No college, no military service (nearly mandatory in Israel), no careers, just doing what they love. Doing what they felt incredibly lucky to be doing, never resting, never complacent, and never making the same album twice.

DISLIKED (LU)
Our local heroes of Ska. For almost 20 years, Disliked have been one of Luxemburg’s greatest live exports. Their explosive mix of genre-bending music, makes you feel good and enjoy the present moment. At home on every stage from the south of France to the deep east of Germany, their energy and joy for danceable beats just hit you straight. Their early punk days were followed by a ska episode, which led to today’s blend, driven by reggae beats, dirty horns and rocking guitars.

SCHËPPE SIWEN (LU)
Schëppe Siwen have gone on to mix folk, rock, polka, reggae, punk and ska into a dense melting pot of sounds, pushing boundaries and proudly singing in their native Luxembourgish. The old world of Folk comes crashing together with more modern sounds, proving that language is no barrier to establishing a genuine connection.

P.O.BOX (FR)
P.O.Box is a D.I.Y. ska punk skate rocksteady party band straight from Nancy (France). They'signed to Guerilla Asso. You've probably never heard of them in the Media before, but you surely have seen them live somewhere on the continent last month or some time ago. Ohhhh... and you've been enjoying it and dancing the shit out of ya.

MARCH (NL)
Often described as ‘Brody Dalle and John Coffey forming an EpiFat band’, MARCH takes bits from rock and punk to give their songs a raw edge, a catchy twist and a positive message. This Dutch/Belgian quartet’s goal: making you go harder, drive faster and shake the dust off your bones, all while painting a huge smile on your face. Combining singer Fleur’s raw voice with an overload of crispy guitar riffs and a high-octane rhythm section, MARCH delivers the most intense live show this side of The Bronx. With +150 shows under their belt, the formation has become a well-oiled live machine that thrives on stage.

STRAIGHTLINE (DE)
Straightline was found in the late 90s under the name Softcore and renamed themself shortly after their Demos and before their first Record “No Way Out” in 2005. The Members changed a couple of times after that, til they got their final Line-Up in 2013 with Singer & Guitarist Bart, Drummer Martin, Bassist Dominik and Guitarist Enric. They released 2 more EPs in 2010 (Change of Seasons) and in 2012 (Sourcrowd – An EP only consisting of short Thrash and Crossover songs), released their 2n Full Length “Final Redemption” in 2013 and went on Tour through Eastern Europe as well as Ukraine & Russia. After their EP “Alteration of the Rules” in 2014 they toured the whole European Continent and went to tour Japan in 2015, as well as several Festivals, such as Punk Rock Holiday or Mighty Sounds. Later that Year they supported Satanic Surfers on their whole Latin American tour. Their new Record “Vanishing Values” was released in 2017 via Bird Attack Records in the US, Canada and Europe and they toured Japan again as well as played another amount of Festivals such as Jera on Air or Quimera Fest in Spain. In Early 2018 the Band will tour Australia for the first time and is currently writing their new Record.

VULVARINE (AUS)
Uncompromising girl power since 2019: Fondly rebellious, Vulvarine call their music vulvarock and fuse punk, hard rock, blues, and high energy rock ‘n’ roll in one go. Their songs are energetic, dramatic, but most of all: empowering. In October 2020, Vulvarine released their debut album “Unleashed” through Electric Fire Records, and now they’re off to set the stage on fire. Be ready for the V!

YOUR WILD YEARS (BE)
They are a band from the South of Belgium. The band members played in Nervous Chillin, Poison Heart, Extinct and Adoptees. Their influences are Social Distortion, Face to Face, Iron Chic, The Menzingers, Rancid, Samiam... and many many more. Punk Rock Love.

THE BOB ROSS EFFECT (DE)
German punk rock band „Bob Ross Effect“ is ready to give you just the right amount of summertime sadness with their highly energetic interpretation of Natalie Imbruglias 90s smash hit “Torn”. Being a long time regular in the bands live shows they are now about to release this super catchy up-tempo skate punk version. The release date is set for August 27th and will come with a beautiful music video as a homage to the original. Founded in 2016 the guys from Wuerzburg, Germany are setting a brisk pace. Countless shows all over Europe from small club concerts to big festival shows, several releases and still aiming for more. The trio consisting of singer/bass player Lennart Jäger, guitarist Jonas Schweizer and drummer Hannes Höhn created their very own mix of Indie and Punk Rock. Sound and songwriting grew over the last years and the band is ready to take the next steps.

DAY 2

TOXKÄPP! (LU)
LOCAL LEGENDS! Founded in 1995, the Luxembourgish two-tone ska pioneer band Toxkäpp! initially started out as a Punk rock outfit with abrasive lyrics sung in their minority language. From the start the lyrics were just as important as the music to the band. They felt the need to give a critical, social and political comment to all of the local goings on, while infusing their commentary with sarcastic humor. The sound quickly evolved to a two-tone-ska influenced danceable mix of raucous attitude and bouncing sounds. Today the band consists of 8 members on stage who play Lux-SKA-classics back-to-back with some inspired new material. They are now marking their 25th band anniversary with a brand-new record release, consisting of 5 classics from their early days, adapted to their current sound.

NOT SCIENTISTS (FR)
Not Scientists are a band from France that sings in English. Since 2012 they've released an album and an extended EP and toured extensively through Europe and North America supporting a who's who of international touring bands. It's impossible to define their sound by dropping a few names, but if you put Televisions’ vocals over the Strokes covering Fugazi and added a kilo of the Cure turned way up, you would get close. Their second album "Golden Staples" was released on Kidnap Records and Rookie Records on April 13th, 2018.

ANTILLECTUAL (NL)
Antillectual from Nijmegen, the Netherlands plays a socially conscious, energetic blend of music. Creating their own unique blend of stolen riffs and borrowed song titles, while carrying the torch for European punk rock.

WEAKONSTRUCTION (LU)
Weakonstruction is literally Punk Rock “à la Luxembourgeoise”. They are funny and serious in the same time. With Pascals surprising stage performance, Johnny hitting the drums like a peruvian hamster, sunnyboy Mikos preference for ugly polish sweaters and Luc picking his bass like theres no tomorrow, the entertainment is guaranteed! If youre lucky, youll even get to admire Pascals Adonis body. So stay tuned for more…

VENEREA (SWE)
Venerea first rose to infamy during the Swedish mid-nineties punk boom, along with bands such as Millencolin, No Fun At All and, Satanic Surfers. They have toured extensively through Europe and beyond, alternating numerous headlining stints with package tours and festivals such as Vans Off The Wall, sharing stages with everyone from Snfu and Bad Religion to NoFx and Propagandhi. Their releases include genre-defining albums such as Both Ends Burning, Shake Your Booty, Losing Weight Gaining Ground, One Louder among others. While taking it a bit easier the last few years the band is now back with new high energy anthem-packed album Last Call For Adderall which will be out April 29th on Dirty Six / Destiny Records.

F.O.D. (BE)
F.O.D. is a Belgian punk rock band known for its catchy melodies. A reviewer on Disagreement.net, an established music e-zine from Luxembourg, writes that while F.O.D. doesn't reinvent punk rock, the band 'distinguishes itself from the competition because of the incredible vocal harmonies'. Dutch independent record label Suburban Records refers to the band as a 'household name in the Belgian punk rock scene', with a 'great live reputation'.

DeeCRACKS (AUS)
DeeCRACKS started in the summer of 2003 and can look back at over 800 shows around the globe, 5 LPs, 1 EP, 4 7 inches, 2 Best-of-CDs and 5 split releases on international labels along with 11 different bass players, 2 band names, and countless crazy tour stories to tell... These guys are workhorses and unstoppable in their efforts to spread their vision of rock’n’roll… Their newest album SERIOUS ISSUES on Pirates Press Records is the latest chapter in the band’s story.

7YEARSBADLUCK (AUT)
7 Years Bad Luck from Salzburg/Innsbruck (Austria) has been around since 2001, played a couple hundred shows around Europe and the UK, released a handful of LPs, EPs and 7-Inches and had the pleasure of sharing stages with acts such as NOFX, Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, Flatliners, Shelter, Dead To Me, Off With Their Heads, Blake Schwarzenbach and many more. The latest release "Split" is a fistful of 90s infused melodic punk rock tunes from a band that has matured lyrically as well as in terms of songwriting, while staying true to itself. 7 Years Bad Luck have been honing their sound that revolves around two lead singers taking turns and big melodies, at the same time staying true to a bare-bones approach to what a punk rock three piece can sound like.

KAIJU ULTRA (LU)
Kaiju Ultra is dissonant noise hardcore band from Luxembourg. These guys are very very angry! Not at you though. But at everybody and everything else. Featuring Members of The Majestic Unicorns from Hell, Los Dueños and Cosmogon.

SUPERDRIVE (LU) --->>  Which replaces Not for Sale (LU)
Power Trio from Luxembourg made up of Baba Pintsch, (Ex Michael Shepherd Band), Louis Wright (Ex Surf Cowboys) & Steve Schmit (Ex one million bands). On first evidence SuperDrive serve up a tasty dish of modern yet classic melodic hard rock which unashamedly wears its influences in its sleeve (6 sleeves to be precise, they're a power trio). The bass is in the driving seat giving hints of RATM, then as the drums and guitar join the blend of sounds and overall vibe places us in the same territory as latter-day Roxanne, Riverdogs, a dash more dogs (the Winery kind!) Direct comparisons would be unfair, these are seasoned musicians with a broad spectrum of influences, different in each member's case which makes for an interesting mélange! Modern melodic hard rock which hints at many influences and ideas waiting to take flight. The Band have recorded their first album which will be released in June 2022.
