For this WIP outside Kufa, we meet at the Walfer Bicherdeeg (Location : Kaffistuff) on November 18th, at 7.15 pm. Our guests will be James Leader, Robbie Martzen, Wendy Winn, and the presenter is Jeanne Glesener.
WIP stands for “Work in Progress” in Paris, and since 2016, for "Word in Progress" in Luxembourg. Usually, on the second Tuesday of each month, from November to May, WIP Luxembourg invites you to discover three texts in the making and their authors. The idea is simple: come and join us for this special edition and listen to unpublished texts in a friendly atmosphere. After each reading, you can share your impressions with the author and the audience. To help create a dialogue, an “interrogator” stands by the writer and channels the crowd’s passion and discussion.
French, Luxembourgish, German, even English: each Word In Progress is dedicated to one of the country’s spoken languages.
Robbie Martzen
Robbie Martzen lives in Luxembourg and studied modern languages and literature in Brussels and Dublin. Several of his poems and short stories have been published in anthologies and journals, both in Luxembourg and abroad. He likes nature, animals, and sometimes people. He also enjoys writing about all of the above. Some of his writing can be found at wildfire-words.com, cahiersluxembourgeois.lu, and www.blackfountain.lu. He is currently working on a poetry collection and a travelogue, two projects which will hopefully see the light of day in the not-too-distant future.
Wendy Winn
Wendy Winn writes poetry that celebrates ordinary experiences and lifts up the spirits. Her work has been published by Black Fountain Press in Luxembourg and in various journals in the USA, like the Vincent Brothers Review, for which she has started working as the poetry editor. She also writes short stories, novels, plays - some of which have been performed - and articles. She works full time in journalism and as a radio host.
James Leader
James Leader is an English-Luxembourgish writer of poetry and fiction. In 2016 he won Luxembourg’s Concours littéraire national for his novel The Venus Zone. In 2023 his debut collection of poetry High Talk was shortlisted for the Prix Servais. He has lived in Luxembourg since 2000 and teaches English at the European School in Mamer.
