Kulturfabrik & Casino Luxembourg – Forum d'art contemporain are proud to announce their collaboration by supporting the music duo Nataša Grujović and Steve Moore.

The musicians Nataša Grujović and Steve Moore will be in residency and perform at both Kulturfabrik and Casino Luxembourg in February and March 2023.

The Luxembourgish accordion master and the American trombone and keyboard player met in January 2020 during a concert at Kulturfabrik. The two were performing as part of an evening which featured the music of American drone band sunnO))), for which Moore had played on synthesizer, organ, electric piano and as a featured trombonist for 15 years. Grujović was opening the concert with her friend Steve Kaspar. The three experimental artists then felt the urge to work together. Unfortunately, life and ultimately death, intervened with the onset of the global pandemic and the sudden passing of Steve Kaspar in October 2020. Grujović and Moore persevered, performing some of Kaspar’s final compositions in 2022 at Rockhal, and their own original works at the gallery Fellner Contemporary.

Inspired by the timeless and traditional Balkan melodies, the music of the Italian choral madrigal composer Carlo Gesualdo and the archaic primacy of drone, the duo has only just begun to explore the possibility present in the meeting of their creative minds. A musical journey that will resume during their residency at Casino Luxembourg and Kulturfabrik during which they will create new compositions and continue to work on Steve Kaspar’s final piece.

The duo will go ahead and play an intimate set at Casino Luxembourg on February 21st, before hitting the stage at Kufa on March 4th.
