“Kufa’s Urban Art Esch” has come a long way since it started at the Kulturfabrik Arts Centre in 2014... After over eighty art works dotted across ten cities in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, the project is now refocused on Esch-sur-Alzette. The project’s 7th edition took place between April and July 2021 and offered a vast programme which included works from local and international artists, a conference, a “Braderie urbaine” (street market), participatory and inclusive projects, meetings, guided tours, etc.
And… the project is set to continue between September and November 2021!
To round off the first series which started in the spring, the Kulturfabrik, the City of Esch-sur-Alzette and the Luxembourg National Rail Company (CFL) are inviting 3 artists to create various works (wall frescoes, art that interacts with nature, etc.) at Esch-sur-Alzette Railway Station. As the city’s main point of access, the railway station will be ready to provide a fitting welcome to the thousands of people who will come to Esch in 2022 when Esch will be European Capital of Culture.
